Back to reality
Well, it's back to reality, all the holidays over. Kinda nice actually. For us, this Christmas really was on the back burner as my husband's dad has pancreatic cancer, and we are visiting there as much as we can on my hubby's days off. I haven't mentioned this before, he was diagnosed several months ago, and I was hoping for a miracle. But now, it seems he's not doing so well and it's sad for all of us--he is such a wonderful person. I had this crazy idea a while back to raise money for pancreatic cancer. I used to tap dance, and there's a step called "Shuffle off to Buffalo". Well, I was thinking I could maybe get something together where people would actually shuffle off to Buffalo from here in Long Beach, California to Buffalo, New York--Niagra Falls maybe? It would really be too much for one person, but I thought maybe if a whole bunch (a huge amount of people!) shuffled as much as they could and then handed off to the next person and so on, maybe it could be done? Across the US?? And people could sponsor per total shuffle or something like that. I don't know, crazy idea but maybe it could happen. I have no experience in such things. And it just popped in my mind...OK, change of subject--I want to start a list of recommended documentaries, we like to watch them (when we can, having a baby, which is not often) and there have been so many that are really good. I wish I remembered them all, but may as well start from here as we've watched a couple of good ones recently. Oh, got to go, baby's up...see list coming very soon!

Couples with kids wanted
We need friends. I mean, we have a couple nearby we're friends with because the woman's been my friend for many years, but we don't hang out that much any more really. Anyway, we need new ones too, right? So this guy came to look at a stroller we're selling tonight, and brought his son who is a year older than ours, and we made small talk and it occurred to me that he and his wife seemed to have stuff in common with us, and he was so nice, and I thought to myself that hey, I could hang out with them. They're the same age, it's their first child, etc etc. Wouldn't it be good to be friends with more than one couple our age with kids around our kids age? Anyway, turns out the stroller was too small, and he left and we said Happy Holidays to one another, and that was it. But I keep thinking that I want to call and invite them over for dinner or something and I know that would be too forward or too weird, right? They might think I'm some sort of friend stalker or something...well, as these things go I suppose I won't call but it might stay in my mind for a bit and I might wish I did....they probably have enough couple friends with kids and I don't believe they live that close by. But I was just wondering, what would happen if I did? Hmm...

Misc
A couple of things...my thoughts go out to all those on the East Coast who are freezing! When we Californians think it's cold here, we haven't a clue. Another thing--snoring. It's not something you think about before you get married. I mean, I guess you just figure you'll get used to it and that motor sound will just fade into the background while you sleep peacefully. Warning to the engaged who's partner snores--NOT SO. This is becoming a major issue in my life. If it's not the baby keeping me up, it's my husband! And it sucks that now the baby's mostly sleeping well, I still cannot sleep because of that growly nasal sound. For a while, the throat spray was working somewhat, also the nose strips. But we're out of those right now, and if there's only one thing I do today it will be to go buy every snoring remedy out there no matter the cost! Even if it helps a little, it will be worth it. I'm considering suggesting surgery? But then my bro-in-law had it and it didn't work so...alas, the baby's waking up from his nap so got to go...have a good Sunday all.
Peeve...

Peeve...
Ok--I just have one quick pet peeve here--WHY is it that they cannot make a stroller that doesn't spill your drink completely all over everything with every little bump you hit?! Or maybe I just don't have the right one...I even had a coffe cup with a lid with the little hole you sip out of today, and splish splash all over everything when I hit a little crack in the sidewalk. I think they need to work on the suspension or something...
Thanks, I feel better now!
